Day 0: Arrive in South Africa- Bonus Night

Welcome to South Africa. We have included a bonus night’s accommodation in Pretoria, so you can arrive anytime today with your tour only officially starting tommorrow. A friendly CMT Representative will collect you from the airport and take you to your hotel in Pretoria. The hotel is surrounded by interesting shops, restaurants and cocktail bars and is a good place to relax and get to know Pretoria before your motorcycle tour starts.

Day 1: Pretoria Day Tour and Big 5 Safari

Highlights: Township tour and BIG 5 motorcycle Safari

This morning we will hand over your motorcycle to you and sign all the paperwork. After that is complete we will have a tour briefing and then the fun begins. We start off by taking a tour of Pretoria, stopping in at the Voortrekker monument for some local history and great views of our capital city, We will have lunch in a tavern in a township to experience all the vibrant colors, sounds and tastes of Africa, followed by a guided motorcycle ride through a BIG 5 nature reserve. Rhinos, giraffes, impala’s and wildebeest can all be spotted from your motorcycle. Tonight we have a welcome dinner in an African Boma. Welcome to Africa!

Day 1: Pretoria Day Tour and Big 5 Safari

Day 2: Pretoria To Magoebaskloof
Distance: +-400km
Highlights: Magoebaskloof Mountain range, twisties, mountain passes and spectacular  valleys

Today you make your way up into South Africa’s wild Limpopo Province. As you head up north, the roads become mountainous with beautiful views of the rolling hills below. Enjoy the great twisties and arrive at the majestic Magoebaskloof hotel, situated on the top of a beautiful mountain pass with breathtaking views of the valley below. There is a lot to do at the hotel. You can take a walk to the waterfall, spotting birds and Samango Monkeys along the way or you can chill out at the Phoenix and Fireman Pub!

Day 3: Panorama route
Distance: +- 250km
Highlights: Gods Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, The Three Rondavels, Waterfalls, Magical Views Sites

Today we make our way down into Mpumalanga (an area known to Local Bikers as “Motorcycle Paradise”) the roads here are beautiful and curvy, and there are so many great view points, rock formations and waterfalls along the way. The route includes stops at Bourkes luck potholes, The Three Rondavels, and Gods Window. We will arrive in Hazyview in the late Afternoon and tonight we are booked in for the Shangana Cultural evening, which includes traditional African dances followed by an African feast!

Day 4: Kruger National Park
Distance 0-50km
Highlights: Safari, Ride up Long Tom Pass

This morning you will depart bright and early for a half day safari into the world famous Kruger National Park- you will have a full morning of game viewing. This world famous wildlife reserve is home to the BIG 5 and is roughly the size of a small country. You will have the opportunity to spot lions, elephants, birds and many different species of animals. You will be returned to your hotel at noon and have the afternoon free to relax or go for a scenicride up Long top pass

Day 5: Hazyview to Swaziland
Distance: +-300km
Highlights: Kingdom of Swaziland

After breakfast we depart for the Kingdom of Swaziland – the home of the friendly Swazi people. After border procedures (passport and possibly visa required) we weave our way along winding country roads and mountain passes. Today we will visit Swaziland’s own glass factory (Ngwenya Glass) and see the world famous Swazi candles being handcrafted at Swazi Candles. There are many excellent restaurants, pubs and craft markets in the Ezulweni Valley where we will overnight at an excellent country lodge, with its own magnificent restaurant with wooden deck with spectacular views.

Day 6:  Swaziland to St. Lucia
Distance: +- 350km
Highlights: Relaxing drive through African Countryside

Today we make our way through Swaziland to South Africa’s Zulu Kingdom, homeland of the proud Zulu nation. In the late afternoon we arrive in St. Lucia, a world renowned natural heritage site, with its beautiful secluded beaches, hippos, crocs, whales, endangered turtles and other wildlife, our home for the next two nights. This afternoon we embark on an exciting sunset river cruise where we see hippos , crocodiles and other estuary wildlife . Tonight you can explore the many restaurants, pubs and cocktail bars that St Lucia has to offer.

Day 7: St. Lucia Rest Day
Distance: +- 0-50 km
Highlights: Many Exciting Optional Activities

St Lucia has so much to offer that we suggest an action packed day undertaking one of the many optional activities on offer e.g. Whale watching & turtle tours (in season).Full and half day game drives are also available into the magnificent Umfolosi/Hluhluwe game reserve. You can also visit a Zulu cultural village . As all activities are extremely popular, to avoid disappointment CMT, prefers to pre-book activities for you.

Day 8: St. Lucia to Kwazulu Natal Battlefields
Distance: +- 200 km
Highlights: Tour of famous Anglo Boer and Zulu battle sites

Time to head inland to the battlefields of South Africa, an area of huge historical significance during the famous Boer-Zulu- British Wars. We arrive at our lodge early in the afternoon, and embark on a tour of the battlefields with a knowledgeable guide who will make them come alive!
