ABOUT – WINTER SPITI VALLEY
As unique as its name, a trip to Spiti Valley is an experience of the ultimate deserted beauty in winters! Separated from fertile lahaul by the soaring 4551 M Kunzum La, the Himalayan Region of Spiti is another chunk of Tibet marooned in India. While this region stays cut off from the rest of the world in the months of October to February, you can visit KAZA from December till March to enjoy the snow clad vistas of this gorgeous cold desert. This is exactly what our winter edition – Spiti Valley Tour package is all about.
Moonscapes To Marvel
Scattered villages in a saw toothed moonscape arriving like mirages on your winter trip to Spiti will surely make you forget about any other panorama you’ve ever seen. The whitewashed mud brick homes along with the perched key monastery looks exceptionally out of the work when they are all laced with snow.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1
Arrival in Chandigarh
A warm welcome and self – check in to your hotel in arrival by noon. Evening Briefing and Registration. Followed by Dinner at hotel and overnight in Chandigarh
Day 2
Drive from Chandigarh to Rampur Bushahr
We begin this Spiti Valley Winter Expedition by hitting the road from Chandigarh. We pass through village towns of Suni and Malgi before entering the spectacular town of Rampur Bushahr. At Rampur Bushahr, you will warm up with a piping cup of tea before checking into your warm hotel room. Dinner and Overnight at Rampur Bushahr.
Day 3
Drive from Rampur Bushahr – Nako
After a comfortable night’s rest at Rampur Bushahr, morning photoshoot at Padam Palace. After breakfast, load up the luggage and we visit the Shakti Peeth of Himachal Pradesh in Sarahan. Later we set off on the famous Hindustan-Tibet Highway. Famed for its spectacular views and proximity to Tibet, this road snakes north into Nako, the last hamlet of Kinnaur district. Here, we spend the night at a comfortable and authentic Tibetian homestay in Nako, followed by Dinner.
Day 4
Drive from Nako – Tabo
We start the day with Winter Snow Training in morning, followed by breakfast. Thereafter we embark on our trip ahead crossing the frozen malling nallah and proceeding for Tabo in Spiti Valley. Check in to Hotel in late afternoon and pay a visit to the 1021 – year old Tabo Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk around this sacred site and gain a deeper understanding of Buddhism. Unlike other monasteries in Spiti Valley, the Tabo monastery is located at the bottom of the valley.
Day 5
Drive from Tabo- Pin Valley – Kaza
From Tabo, we drive to the spectacular Pin Valley. Imagine a national park with an abundance of animals and birds, with some rare plant varieties and a river that is frozen. Pin Valley promises all this. We first visit the Kungri Monastery and then the beautiful hamlet of Mudh – the last motorable village of the Pin Valley. Declared a national park in 1987, Pin Valley has altitudes ranging from 11,000 to 20,000 feet and is home to at least 12 endangered snow leopards. In addition, other animals indigenous to the region and park are the Siberian ibex, bharal, weasel, red fox and marten. Birds such as the pika, griffon, golden eagle, bearded vulture, chukor and raven paint the skies a pretty picture.

Day 6
Drive from Kaza – Ki Monastery – Tabo
We begin this sixth day, with a ride to renowned Ki Monastery. The vehicles will first stop at the base of the monastery hill for the ultimate photo opportunity of this remarkable structure amid white snow. With over 1000 years’ worth stories to tell, the Ki Monastery situated at a height of 13,668 feet was founded by a disciple of the famous Atisha, in the 11th century CE. Belonging to the Yellow Hat or Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, this monastery is famous as a prominent center of learning as well as a refuge for Tibetans. Being remotely located atop a hill overlooking endless plains, the Ki Monastery is an obvious choice for those seeking peace and calm.
Then we will start our return journey to Tabo, adjoining mountains of high altitude. Photo-stop at the frozen waterfall. The expanses of beautiful landscapes and immeasurable beauty of the snowy mountains make the place a haven for nature-lovers and photographers alike. We drive back to Tabo for the night.

Day 7
Drive from Tabo – Kalpa / Rampur
After breakfast, we make our way south towards Kinnaur Valley. Along this journey, you can get to capturing some scenic visions that you might have missed out on your camera.
Before entering Kalpa at 7549 feet, we catch a glimpse the famous Kinner Kailash Peak – said to be the summer adobe of Lord Shiva.
At Kalpa, you will warm up with a piping cup of tea before checking into your warm hotel room.
Dinner and Overnight stay at a hotel in Kalpa/ Reckong Peo.
Day 8
Drive from Kalpa – Shimla
The eight day marks the beginning of the end of this expedition. We make our way south towards Shimla. Along this journey, you can get to capturing some scenic visions that you might have missed out on your camera. After a scenic and memorable drive, we will end the journey at Shimla. End of Backup luggage vehicle.

Day 9
Shimla – Home
The last leg of this 9 Day Winter Expedition is here. We self check out and drive to home – Chandigarh / Delhi from Shimla with a bag of delightful memories and exciting stories to recount.

IMPORTANT POINTS
- We need riders to be fit and fine with basic knowledge of off roading. Minimum 10 Riders.
- Minimal skill set of off road and how to pick your bike is definitely required.
- Tyres should be in good condition. For snow we highly recommend Dual Sport tires for Bikes and AT or HT tyres for 4×4’s.
- We all are there to help you but as they say god help them who help themselves. So be patient as someone will surely be there to Help
- Extraction of personnel / bikes from the trails in case of mechanical failure or technical failure/injury to person will be charged on as per actual basis
- Backup vehicle will be available as per the program itinerary equipped with Oxygen Aid Kit and for luggage purpose.
- Your bikes should be in excellent shape prior to ride. So do give a Routine check-up specially for Tyres , coolant , engine oils and brake pads
